SRI SRI RADHA BALLABH
Prabhupad Sri Sri Braja Raman Goswami is the founding Father of Sri Sri Radha Ballabh Ashram, Shalganga. Sri Sri Radha Ballabh was worshiped and served by the renowned Goswami clan from generation to generation. The Holy root clan of this clan is Narayan Pandit. According to some system(Deeksha Pranalee), Prabhupad Braja Raman is the ninth person counting from Lord Bhaba Dev. Accoring to this system, Sri Sri Balaram Goswami, the elder son of Prabhupad is the tenth person.
However, Sri Sri Radha Ballabh was worshiped and served for centuries in the village Sachayanee under Atuajan Pargana of Jagannathpur Thana in the Sunamganj Sub-Division of Sylhet District(Bangladesh)
But after the partition of the country in 1947, the scenario changes causing a change in abode of this Goswami clan.
Abiding by the direction of the Muslim Saint and Fakir 'Chhawal Pir' with the indication - Good lies in Wood(Jangal-e-mangal), Sri Sri Prabhupad left his ancestral place holding his Beloved Radha Ballabh in his chest and landed on the soil of Cachar in 1950.
After a stopover for a few days in the house of Late Shyam Sundar Das at steamerghat road, Karimganj and then staying for some days in the house of Late Amar Gobinda Pal at Bilpar, Mandir Dighi, Silchar, the Prabhupad started living in the Ashram at Shalganga.
On 5th of Magh, 1357 of Bengali Year( 19th January, 1950) the Prabhupad duly installed Sri Sri Radh Ballabh in the Ashram at Shalganga and started usual worshiping and service of the deity.
Since then everyday at noon Holycooked "Bhog Prasad" of Sri Sri Radha Ballabh is served among the devotees present.
